Still Have Questions? We Got You!
HOW DOES SUITUP WORK?
SuitUp hosts career-readiness programming such as a Mock-Interview Simulation, College & Career Panel, CEO Assembly, and Networking Mixer. Our traditional business competition divides students into 3-5 teams where they compete to create a new business product/solution with the support of corporate mentors. At the end of the event, teams will pitch their new ideas to business experts and the winning team receives a cash prize.
HOW MUCH DOES SUITUP COST?
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are pleased to offer SuitUp programs to schools and youth partners completely free of charge. SuitUp will provide lunch to students and chaperones for all in-person events.
HOW MANY STUDENTS CAN PARTICIPATE?
Most events vary in size, with a minimum of 20 students all the way up to your whole school! We aim for small-group mentorship with a ratio of 1 volunteer per 2 students. We also are happy to engage individual students if they are interested.
HOW OLD DO THE STUDENTS HAVE TO BE?
Our competitions are traditionally open to youth ages 10-18 (5th-12th grade), but email shanita@volunteersuitup.org if you serve students outside of this range and would still like to participate.
WHEN CAN WE DO A SUITUP EVENT?
Whenever convenient for you! Our programs are held Monday-Friday, traditionally during or after school.
WHERE DO THE EVENTS TAKE PLACE?
SuitUp events can be held virtually, at any of our school/youth partner locations, or in a corporate office!
HOW DO YOU FIND THE CORPORATIONS?
We partner with Fortune 500 companies that will greatly support students in developing real industry skills while exposing them to a variety of careers. Companies range from technology to finance to fashion brands, and more!
DO WE NEED TO DO ANY PREP-WORK?
Hardly any! SuitUp is a full-service provider and does all the heavy lifting. SuitUp shares a youth partner packet for each event that includes an event summary, important links, email templates, and more. All we need our primary contact to do is to provide full names and emails of students so we can send them the information, and then encourage them to show up.
