SuitUp x Amazon Web Services

Partner Objective

Ares Management asked SuitUp to curate an event to build company culture and encourage employees into the office.

Program Summary

CEOs drawing out their business model.

Students and Amazon Web Service volunteers created a new product or service for Amazon, focusing on a social issue for the demographic of their choosing. In teams of 4, students and volunteers designed the product or service, crafted a marketing and profit strategy, and pitched their final idea to a panel of judges. The judges were so impressed with the hard work of the students they declared every student a winner.

The Young Women's Leadership School of the Bronx participated in this competition alongside Amazon’s employees.

The Data

Achieved Objective

Amazon Web Service competition winners.

The collaborative style of the business competitions allows volunteers to not only work with students but also get to know their coworkers in a casual setting. This competition provided Amazon employees the chance to work and help students from underserved communities while also learning about a social issue from the perspective of students. Through this competition, Amazon took an important step in building a socially conscious company culture that encourages hands-on participation of its employees.
