SuitUp x Goldman Sachs
Partner Objective
Goldman Sachs was looking for a skills-based opportunity that their busy CEO could participate in.
Program Summary
SuitUp organized and facilitated students from Young Women’s Leadership School of Brooklyn to engage in a business competition with David Solomon, the CEO of Goldman Sachs, along with other Goldman Sachs leadership.
The challenge was simple: create a new product or service for Nike. SuitUp organized a reporter from Bloomberg to document this impactful event. Bloomberg reported of the winning team that “Another group had a eureka moment when someone blurted out “Just See It.” That became the slogan for their product: high-tech Nike eyeglasses capable of taking pictures and alerting the wearer to danger ahead.”
When the time for pitches rolled around, David Solomon said of the Nike eyeglasses that it “addresses a big market, and reasonable in the context of manufacturing”. Bloomberg said when he heard their pitch he was “positively glowing”.
The Averages
Achieved Objective
SuitUp allowed Goldman Sachs to achieve their objective by having their busy CEO participate in a hands-on volunteering opportunity. SuitUp took all the logistics off of the company’s shoulders and made the experience low-lift for Goldman Sachs. David Solomon used his business expertise to give students from an underserved community valuable feedback on their work. SuitUp even had Bloomberg publish his efforts to give back to the local community.
